Passe & Williams Foundation is proud to announce successful applicants from its most recent Award Round. Applying for our competitive Awards, these Awardees showed excellence in their desire to improve healthcare in the field of Ear, Nose & Throat (ENT):

Junior Fellowship

  • Dr. Erin Brazel | The University of Adelaide
    Developing a new vaccine to prevent bacterial ear infections
  • Dr. Chameera Ekanayake Weeramange | Griffith University
    Personalizing treatment for p16 positive OPC patients using circulating tumour cell cultures
  • Dr. Anu Sabu | Bionics Institute
    Investigating how combined stimulation improves hearing outcomes for the partially deaf

 

Mid-Career Fellowship

  • Dr. Xiao Liu | The University of Wollongong
    Development of Biomimetic Scaffolds for Accelerated Osteogenesis
  • Dr. Demi Gao | Bionics Institute
    Enabling improved cochlear implant programming for infants: an objective method based on fNIRS

 

Conjoint Grant

Applications for the Senior Fellowship will open again for the FY25 Award Round.

For our discrete Awards (those that may be applied for outside of the Award Round), we are delighted to announce Dr. James Johnston as our latest Academic Surgeon-Scientist Fellowship Awardee. James’ fellowship will focus on Paediatrics/Laryngology, and see him travel to London, UK and Sydney, Australia, before returning home to Auckland to complete his Award.
