The Academic Surgeon-Scientist Research Scholarship (ASSRS) is a scholarship to enable surgical trainees in OHNS, who have a genuine desire to undertake research through completion of a research-focused Doctor of Philosophy (PhD).
Passe & Williams Foundation offers up to four ASSRS awards each year.
To ensure that all trainees in Australia and New Zealand are provided the opportunity to receive an ASSRS award, and in consultation with the ORL Board, the eligibility criteria for principal supervisors has now been broadened. We are also updating the Terms & Conditions of Award, to strengthen the support this scholarship can offer a candidate.
Prospective supervisors who haven’t previously supervised an ASSRS recipient and wish to do so are asked to complete the Supervisor Eligibility Criteria form. The Foundation will respond to you as soon as possible to verify your eligibility and be included on the confirmed Supervisors’ list.
