Dr. Michael Jay honoured in the King’s Birthday List

Congratulations to Dr. Michael Jay on being appointed a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) for his significant service to otolaryngology, to head and neck surgery, and to professional bodies.

Michael has worked tirelessly in the role of education for aspiring surgeons, himself having worked in the public hospital system from 1982 until his retirement from practice in 2016. A former President of the Australian Society of Head and Neck Surgery (2010-2012), Michael has also held the prestigious positions of:

• Chairman of the Department at the Royal Adelaide Hospital
• Chairman of the State (South Australia) Training Committee
• Chairman of the national Board in Otorhinolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery and Senior Examiner in the Specialty

As Trustee and Board Chair of the Passe & Williams Foundation, Michael continues to stay on the forefront of understanding the needs of surgical trainees, and those of the Ear, Nose & Throat specialty at large.
