Dr. Oveis Pourmehran

Dr. Oveis Pourmehran

Oveis is a postdoctoral research fellow at Adelaide Medical School who received his PhD in School of Mechanical Engineering with the University of Adelaide in 2021. He is an expert in biomechanics, aero-acoustics, and fluid mechanics. He has several years of experience in computational modelling for targeted drug delivery in respiratory systems, nasal cavity and sinuses as well as several years of practical experience in the development of an acoustically enhanced delivery technique for drug delivery to paranasal sinuses. He has published >32 peer-reviewed journal papers and 5 conference articles. He has an h-index of 20 and his works have been cited >1500 times, and is a member of the editorial and review board in several peer-reviewed journals. He was awarded Dean’s Commendation for Doctoral Thesis Excellence from The University of Adelaide, Beacon of Enlightenment PhD Scholarship from the University of Adelaide (2017-2021), Frank Perry Travelling Scholarship in Engineering, and Conference Allowance from the University of Adelaide. Jointly with other chief investigators, has received over $2m in research funds including 1 NHMRC-MRFF grant and 1 GPRWMF grant for development of a highly efficient device for drug delivery to paranasal sinuses for CF and CRS treatments.
