Professor Alkis Psaltis

Professor Psaltis MBBS(HONS) PhD, FRACS, is the current Head of Department of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Adelaide, South Australia and a Professor at the University of Adelaide. He is also a co-director of the ENT Research Institute at the Basil Hetzel Institute, Adelaide, South Australia. He has published 150 peer review articles and 15 book chapters and is on the editorial board of Plos One, American Journal of Rhinology and Allergy, Journal of Otolaryngology, and Annals of Otology and Laryngology. He is the academic representive on the board of training of the Australian Society of Head and Neck Surgeons and the Australian and New Zealand Research and Scholarship Committee for the Royal Australian College of Surgeons. He has supervised 17 PhD students and 2 Masters Students and has a strong interest in the microbial influence on the development and persistence of chronic rhinosinusitis.
